There are three categories, or families, of regular French verbs. These are the –er verbs, the –ir verbs, and the –re verbs.

Regular verbs within these three families are conjugated the same way. Therefore, if you know how to conjugate one –er verb, you know how to conjugate them all!  The same goes for the –ir and –re families.  Once you learn these three patterns, you can conjugate most French verbs.
